Greet­ings, Fel­low Tigers,

We are almost to Sep­tem­ber, the last month of the Kiwa­nis year.  And what a year it has been, with a glob­al pandem­ic, racial ten­sions, shaky economies, and extreme weath­er conditions.

Still, you, the Eye of the Tiger eKi­wa­nis mem­bers, con­tin­ue with your strong lead­er­ship. We cur­rent­ly have 73 awe­some mem­bers, an increase of 25 for this year. We are #2 out of 452 clubs in the Cal­i­for­nia-Neva­da-Hawaii in the num­ber of mem­bers added. Our growth enables us to devel­op, encour­age, and sup­port each oth­er in the cul­ture of growth. And we are still grow­ing, thanks to you!

The num­ber of new club open­ings is a mov­ing and increas­ing total, again thanks to you, as you find cre­ative ways to open clubs in this unpre­dictable time.  Accord­ing to the Kiwa­nis Inter­na­tion­al 2019–20 Mem­ber­ship Met­rics (cur­rent as of July 30), 41 clubs have been com­plet­ed in the Amer­i­c­as and 109 clubs glob­al­ly. The new club open­ing forms indi­cate that mem­bers of the Eye of the Tiger eKi­wa­nis opened 24 of those 41 clubs in the Amer­i­c­as and 25 of 109 clubs glob­al­ly. Thank you for grow­ing Kiwanis!

As of today, we have 32 more days in the 2019–2020 Kiwa­nis year. So, there is still time to make calls, send texts and mes­sages, respond to every social media “like” of Kiwa­nis, meet in per­son or vir­tu­al­ly, and add more mem­bers and clubs to serve chil­dren. In the words of Win­ston Churchill, “This is no time for ease and com­fort. It is time to dare and endure.” In the words of Gand­hi, “The future depends on what you do today.” And as our own Allen Yer­govich says, “It’s time to get quacking.”
