There were approx\u00adi\u00admate\u00adly 55 Eye of the Tiger e\u2011Kiwanis Club <\/span>mem\u00adbers and guests present on their com\u00adput\u00aders or phones for our meet\u00ading held on the evening of July 16th. We had par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpants from coast to coast in the USA<\/span>, Cana\u00adda, Jamaica, Colum\u00adbia, Ice\u00adland and Malaysia. We are indeed a glob\u00adal orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion com\u00ading togeth\u00ader in our desire to improve mem\u00adber\u00adship, encour\u00adage lead\u00ader\u00adship and pro\u00advide service. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our club enjoyed host\u00ading an inter\u00adclub with the Red Stick e\u2011Kiwanis Club of Baton Rouge from the Louisiana Mis\u00adsis\u00adsip\u00adpi West Ten\u00adnessee Dis\u00adtrict. Club mem\u00adbers were intro\u00adduced by Divi\u00adsion 80E<\/span> Lieu\u00adtenant Gov\u00ader\u00adnor Lau\u00adra Gilliland, includ\u00ading Past Pres\u00adi\u00addent of the Euro\u00adpean Fed\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion \u00d3skar Gu\u00f0j\u00f3ns\u00adson and LaMis\u00adsTenn Gov\u00ader\u00adnor Bruce Ham\u00admatt, along with First Lady Joy. We joined togeth\u00ader to sing Hap\u00adpy Birth\u00adday<\/em> to Joy, tru\u00adly hon\u00adored that she decid\u00aded to spent her birth\u00adday with us.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Pres\u00adi\u00addent Barb Thomp\u00adson was excit\u00aded to be able to induct three new mem\u00adbers this evening. All were wel\u00adcomed with a hearty EOT<\/span> Zoom hand\u00adshake. Those new club mem\u00adbers include the cur\u00adrent Gov\u00ader\u00adnor of the Utah-Ida\u00adho Dis\u00adtrict, Steven L. West\u00adphal spon\u00adsored by Joe Mey\u00ader, the Past Gov\u00ader\u00adnor of the Colom\u00adbia Dis\u00adtrict, Jose Velasquez spon\u00adsored by PIT<\/span> Chuck Gugli\u00aduz\u00adza and  Mem\u00adber\u00adship Chair Taka Oga\u00adta from the Indi\u00adana Dis\u00adtrict, intro\u00adduced by Joe. All three of our new mem\u00adbers have worked hard to improve mem\u00adber\u00adship in their respec\u00adtive Dis\u00adtricts. We are extreme\u00adly pleased they have cho\u00adsen to join our EOT<\/span> e\u2011Kiwanis club.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Cal\u00adi\u00adfor\u00adnia Neva\u00adda Hawaii can\u00addi\u00addate for Gov\u00ader\u00adnor Elect, Valar\u00adie Brown-Klin\u00adgel\u00adhoe\u00adfer, explained how being a \u201cmil\u00adi\u00adtary brat\u201d has giv\u00aden her a broad\u00ader per\u00adspec\u00adtive of the world. Her Doc\u00adtor\u00adate degree led to many years in Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty admin\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion and she con\u00adtin\u00adues to con\u00adsult in her retire\u00adment.  Being a third gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion Kiwan\u00adian, she is ded\u00adi\u00adcat\u00aded to grow\u00ading clubs. Her mot\u00adto: Dream Big Set Goals<\/strong> sums up Valar\u00adie\u2019s ded\u00adi\u00adca\u00adtion and enthu\u00adsi\u00adasm for Kiwa\u00adnis. We wish our EOT<\/span> Trea\u00adsur\u00ader all the best in achiev\u00ading her goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Incom\u00ading Gov\u00ader\u00adnor Elect Mary Lynn Des\u00adjar\u00adlais stepped away from her Lieu\u00adtenant Gov\u00ader\u00adnor train\u00ading, to share her mem\u00adber pro\u00adfile with us. Mary Lynn has been an attor\u00adney in Sara\u00adso\u00adta for thir\u00adty years, spe\u00adcial\u00adiz\u00ading in estate plan\u00adning and real estate. She has been tasked with cre\u00adat\u00ading the work\u00adshops for the upcom\u00ading Flori\u00adda online con\u00adven\u00adtion in August. She is thrilled that EOT<\/span> mem\u00adbers are deliv\u00ader\u00ading mem\u00adber\u00adship growth work\u00adshops among the thir\u00adty-four edu\u00adca\u00adtion\u00adal ses\u00adsions she has cre\u00adat\u00aded. Mary Lynn is grate\u00adful to be work\u00ading with the sup\u00adport\u00adive Flori\u00adda lead\u00ader\u00adship team. Have a great year ahead!<\/span><\/p>\n

Plant City Cit\u00adi\u00adzen of the Year, Divi\u00adsion 14 Trustee, Sharon Moody from the Flori\u00adda Dis\u00adtrict is one very busy Kiwan\u00adian. She is a 13 year Kiwan\u00adian, now retired from busi\u00adness admin\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion who is active\u00adly involved in innu\u00admer\u00adable com\u00admit\u00adtees and orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions. Sharon is throw\u00ading her hat into the ring for the posi\u00adtion of Vice Gov\u00ader\u00adnor 2020\/2021. Thank you for step\u00adping forward!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Flori\u00adda Dis\u00adtrict can\u00addi\u00addate for Gov\u00ader\u00adnor Elect, Har\u00advey White explained to us how Kiwa\u00adnis came to his life. If I said, \u201cstale bread\u201d, you might won\u00adder how this could be? How\u00adev\u00ader, Har\u00advey par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpat\u00aded in the gath\u00ader\u00ading and dis\u00adtri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion of bak\u00adery dona\u00adtions to help those in need, along\u00adside a Kiwan\u00adian. From the expe\u00adri\u00adence, Har\u00advey knew that he want\u00aded to be a part of this great ser\u00advice orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion. We know Har\u00advey, along with his \u201cFirst Daugh\u00adter\u201d, will con\u00adtin\u00adue to impact com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adties through\u00adout the Flori\u00adda Dis\u00adtrict. Kiwa\u00adnis is the best thing since sliced bread\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

August is approach\u00ading as are many EOT<\/span> mem\u00adber birth\u00addays pri\u00ador to our next club meet\u00ading on August 20th. Birth\u00addays include <\/span><\/span>August 3rd Joe Rug\u00adgiero, 4th Sharon Moody, 5th Brit\u00adtany Love, 6th Rose\u00admary Oars\u00adley and the 15th Mark Espos\u00adi\u00adto. On our club meet\u00ading, it will be Armand St. Ray\u00admond\u2019s birth\u00adday cel\u00ade\u00adbra\u00adtion. Voic\u00ades are start\u00ading to warm up\u2026<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
