There were 68<\/span> mem\u00adbers and guests present on their com\u00adput\u00aders or phones for our Kiwa\u00adnis Eye of the Tiger e\u2011club meet\u00ading held on the evening of May 21st. Our club enjoyed host\u00ading an inter\u00adclub with Divi\u00adsion 25 of East\u00adern Cana\u00adda and the Caribbean Dis\u00adtrict. With every area of the world con\u00adfronting the cur\u00adrent pan\u00addem\u00adic, it is good to know that Kiwa\u00adni\u00adans con\u00adtin\u00adue to remain connected. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We were delight\u00aded to wel\u00adcome Jose Velasquez from Colum\u00adbia with able trans\u00adla\u00adtion by EOT<\/span> Past Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Trustee Chuck Gugli\u00aduz\u00adza along with Flori\u00adda\u2019s Past Gov\u00ader\u00adnor Steve LeBlanc and our Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Trustee Coun\u00adcil\u00adlor Greg Beard, as guests on our zoom call. Do I envi\u00adsion three more appli\u00adca\u00adtions being sent out?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

EOT<\/span> mem\u00adber Coleen Law\u00adson-Tay\u00adlor from the Prov\u00adi\u00addence- Mon\u00adtego Bay Kiwa\u00adnis Club, Divi\u00adsion 25, was the cat\u00ada\u00adlyst to engage fel\u00adlow Kiwa\u00adni\u00adans from her Divi\u00adsion to attend our meet\u00ading. From the Kiwa\u00adnis Clubs of Hopewell, Prov\u00adi\u00addence Mon\u00adtego Bay, Mon\u00adtego Bay-Freeport, Bethel Town, Coastal Trelawny, San\u00adta Cruz and Rose Hall, we were delight\u00aded to wel\u00adcome all. It was won\u00adder\u00adful to also see Dis\u00adtin\u00adguished Gov\u00ader\u00adnors Bob\u00adby Moo Young and Hope Marks join\u00ading us along with so many Pres\u00adi\u00addents, Sec\u00adre\u00adtaries and club mem\u00adbers from Jamaica. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We con\u00adgrat\u00adu\u00adlate East\u00adern Cana\u00adda and Caribbean\u2019s Imme\u00addi\u00adate Past Gov\u00ader\u00adnor Mel Clarke for receiv\u00ading the Dis\u00adtin\u00adguished sta\u00adtus for his year as one of only two Dis\u00adtricts in North Amer\u00adi\u00adca to achieve that hon\u00adour. Mem\u00adber\u00adship growth made it possible. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our own club con\u00adtin\u00adues to focus on growth. Pres\u00adi\u00addent Barb Thomp\u00adson was excit\u00aded to be able to induct PG<\/span> PNW<\/span> Roger Bell, appro\u00adpri\u00adat\u00ading wear\u00ading a tiger tie, PG<\/span> New Jer\u00adsey Dis\u00adtrict Michael Mul\u00adhaul sport\u00ading a covid beard, Kel\u00adly Pena show\u00adcas\u00ading the Kiwa\u00adnis green screen and Kendra Skid\u00admore eager to get out doing Kiwa\u00adnis work again. We con\u00adtin\u00adue on the road to build\u00ading a stronger Kiwa\u00adnis through those ded\u00adi\u00adcat\u00aded to grow\u00ading new clubs, fos\u00adter\u00ading lead\u00aders and ser\u00advice to others. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We are hap\u00adpy to announce the elec\u00adtion of offi\u00adcers for the upcom\u00ading Kiwa\u00adnis year. Thank you to those who have offered their lead\u00ader\u00adship exper\u00adtise to help our club move for\u00adward. Moved by Past Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Pres\u00adi\u00addent Jim Rochford and sec\u00adond\u00aded by Past Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Trustee Gary Levine that our slate of offi\u00adcers was acclaimed.<\/span><\/p>\n

They will sub\u00admit their review of our finances to the club board in June. Thank you to the com\u00admit\u00adtee mem\u00adbers and trea\u00adsur\u00ader Valar\u00adie for keep\u00ading us on track.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
