It was the best of times, it was the worst of times\u2026.it was the sea\u00adson of Light, it was the sea\u00adson of Dark\u00adness, it was the spring of hope, it was the win\u00adter of despair.\u201d These famous words from Charles Dick\u00adens\u2019 open\u00ading para\u00adgraph of A Tale of Two Cities<\/em> were writ\u00adten in 1859 about con\u00addi\u00adtions in 1775. The first sen\u00adtence from The Kiwa\u00adnis Lega\u00adcy<\/em>, \u00a9 2004, reads \u201cAt the begin\u00adning of the 20th<\/sup> cen\u00adtu\u00adry, well sir, the world turned flat crazy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

So, here we are in 2020, expe\u00adri\u00adenc\u00ading a glob\u00adal pan\u00addem\u00adic, and those sen\u00adtences from the past describe our world. For\u00adtu\u00adnate\u00adly, ever since 1915, we have had Kiwa\u00adnis and good-heart\u00aded Kiwa\u00adni\u00adans to step for\u00adward to pro\u00advide the \u201csea\u00adson of Light\u201d and \u201cspring of hope\u201d that Dick\u00adens named.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mem\u00adbers of the Eye of the Tiger (EOT<\/span>) eKi\u00adwa\u00adnis con\u00adtin\u00adue to lead in improv\u00ading the lives of oth\u00aders. Through our new part\u00adner\u00adship with The Lit\u00ader\u00ada\u00adcy Club, EOT<\/span> eKi\u00adwa\u00adni\u00adans have pro\u00advid\u00aded over 1000 books to unlock the pow\u00ader of read\u00ading for chil\u00addren dur\u00ading this time. <\/span><\/p>\n

Our EOT<\/span> eKi\u00adwa\u00adni\u00adans are involved in many oth\u00ader projects, such as mak\u00ading cloth face masks and deliv\u00ader\u00ading much-need\u00aded food to those who are hungry. <\/span><\/p>\n

Our e\u2011club mod\u00adel has proven help\u00adful in inspir\u00ading face-to-face Kiwa\u00adnis clubs and foun\u00adda\u00adtions to piv\u00adot to vir\u00adtu\u00adal meet\u00adings. And while social dis\u00adtanc\u00ading and orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion\u00adal shut\u00addowns make in-per\u00adson vis\u00adits dif\u00adfi\u00adcult, EOT<\/span> eKi\u00adwa\u00adnis mem\u00adbers are orga\u00adniz\u00ading an e\u2011club and fin\u00adish\u00ading require\u00adments for oth\u00ader clubs. Final\u00adly, many EOT<\/span> eKi\u00adwa\u00adni\u00adans are active\u00adly prepar\u00ading for club open\u00adings (includ\u00ading our planned loca\u00adtions in Indi\u00adanapo\u00adlis) to begin when our phys\u00adi\u00adcal loca\u00adtions open up again.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 1915, Kiwa\u00adnis has sur\u00advived and served through two world wars, a major eco\u00adnom\u00adic depres\u00adsion, and at least four oth\u00ader glob\u00adal pan\u00addemics. Thank you for your lead\u00ader\u00adship, hard work, and gen\u00aderos\u00adi\u00adty in meet\u00ading our cur\u00adrent chal\u00adlenges and in ensur\u00ading a healthy future for Kiwa\u00adnis.
