I am wish\u00ading you a joy\u00adful Valentine\u2019s Day ahead!<\/span><\/p>\n

Spring is just around the cor\u00adner; Punx\u00adsutawney Phil, the weath\u00ader-pre\u00addict\u00ading ground\u00adhog from Punx\u00adsutawney, PA<\/span>, declared it so on Feb\u00adru\u00adary 2. Phil\u2019s opti\u00admistic mes\u00adsage pre\u00addicts that those that have been snow\u00adbound can soon count on being out in the field open\u00ading clubs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now is the time to plan, orga\u00adnize your team, and make appoint\u00adments so that when the weath\u00ader clears, you are ready. The 1\u201331-20 Club Open\u00ading Score\u00adcard indi\u00adcates that world\u00adwide, Kiwa\u00adni\u00adans have opened 50 of the 2019\u201320 goal of 355 clubs. In North Amer\u00adi\u00adca, we have opened 18 of the 190 new club goal. Now is the time! <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Our club has good news about increas\u00ading our mem\u00adber\u00adship. Five mem\u00adber\u00adship appli\u00adca\u00adtions were sub\u00admit\u00adted in Jan\u00adu\u00adary, with the promise of sev\u00ader\u00adal more. We are pleased to wel\u00adcome Bar\u00adbara Breuer, Flori\u00adda Dis\u00adtrict LtG-Elect; Nanette Clark, Flori\u00adda Dis\u00adtrict LtG; Sharon Moody, Flori\u00adda Dis\u00adtrict Mem\u00adber Reten\u00adtion Chair and Vice-Gov\u00ader\u00adnor Can\u00addi\u00addate; Joe Rugier\u00adro, New York Dis\u00adtrict Gov\u00ader\u00adnor; and Har\u00advey White, Flori\u00adda Dis\u00adtrict Vice-Gov\u00ader\u00adnor. We are for\u00adtu\u00adnate to have these awe\u00adsome lead\u00aders join our club, fur\u00adther\u00ading our goal of sup\u00adport\u00ading and encour\u00adag\u00ading lead\u00ader\u00adship and bring\u00ading our mem\u00adber\u00adship to 55.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are already plan\u00adning to meet our goal of open\u00ading clubs before the Kiwa\u00adnis Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal con\u00adven\u00adtion in Indi\u00adanapo\u00adlis this June. Thank you to Joe Mey\u00ader and Jim Rochford for their work to pre\u00adpare for club open\u00adings and a fundrais\u00ader. We will learn more details at the Feb\u00adru\u00adary 20 meet\u00ading. If you have not yet signed up to be part of the club open\u00ading team, please com\u00adplete Gary Levine\u2019s Doo\u00addle poll<\/a> that you should have received via email.<\/span><\/p>\n

We con\u00adtin\u00adue to be engaged in ser\u00advice activ\u00adi\u00adties for our club. While vis\u00adit\u00ading Roat\u00e1n, Hon\u00adduras, Char\u00adlie and I had the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty to buy and deliv\u00ader gro\u00adceries to three fam\u00adi\u00adlies of stu\u00addents whose lives have been affect\u00aded by AIDS<\/span>. Be sure to send your hours, mon\u00ade\u00adtary dona\u00adtions, and pic\u00adtures to Sec\u00adre\u00adtary Alan Guire.<\/span><\/p>\n

When we cel\u00ade\u00adbrat\u00aded Dr. Mar\u00adtin Luther King, Jr. Day on Jan\u00adu\u00adary 20, I was remind\u00aded of one of my favorite Dr. King quotes: \u201cLife\u2019s most per\u00adsis\u00adtent and urgent ques\u00adtion is \u2018What are you doing for oth\u00aders?\u2019\u201d Mem\u00adbers of this club have awe\u00adsome answers for that ques\u00adtion, and I can\u2019t wait to hear them at our meet\u00ading on Feb\u00adru\u00adary 20!
